Ecoserv Group, the multi-discipline facilities management (FM) company, has created a dedicated sustainability team to drive its environmental, social and community goals. The company is already committed to achieving a net zero impact on climate and is currently working on an ambitious sustainability strategy, which will be launched in the coming months.

The team – based at Ecoserv Group’s head-office in Wallingford, Oxfordshire – will be headed by Group Sustainability & Brand Director, Sally-Ann van Blerk. Moving forward, it will be responsible for implementing the sustainability strategy and tracking progress in line with science-based objectives. This will include working closely with customers and suppliers to share and take advantage of the latest industry best practice.

Ecoserv Group is also looking to introduce a waste management offering as part of its plans to develop a wider range of FM services, following the rebrand of the business from Ecocleen last month. The sustainability team will be heavily involved in identifying potential partners and ensuring they meet strict sustainability standards, while engaging with customers to better understand their individual requirements.

“We are an eco-engaged business with an established green heritage, so we are continually looking at ways to improve our sustainability commitment and act responsibly in the communities we operate,” explains Ecoserv Group’s Sally-Ann van Blerk. “By creating a dedicated team, we are able to bring together all the expertise within the business and ensure we are best placed to meet our ambitious range of environmental and social sustainability targets.”

Mark McMullen, Chief Commercial Officer at Ecoserv Group commented: “This latest development will ensure that sustainability is embedded into everything we do, so we can accelerate our journey towards net zero and continue to define industry best practice. Fundamentally, it’s about doing more of what our customers and our communities need into the future.”
